Oak Staircase, oak plank floors and herringbone oak flooring - Rosebank

Solid oak stair-nosing was added to engineered oak flooring to clad the staircase in this townhouse in Rosebank.  The floor planks used in the staircase were the same as those used in other parts of the house.  The treads and risers were pre-finished in Lobasol 2K Impact Oil white.   Solid wood skirting boards were painted white and installed to finish off the edges of the stairs - bent to cover the edges of the curved sections.

Gym flooring - Waterkloof

A Suntups factory pre-finished engineered oak floor was used in this private gym of an upmarket residence in Waterkloof, Pretoria.  When installing a gym floor we would normally use Elastilon Sport - a 10mm thick high-density foam underlay that aloows "give" in the floor.  In this installation it was decided to rather use Elastilon Strong - a 3mm thick version - due to the equipment that was to be installed and the expected use of the gym.

Discovery Bank

FinFloor supplied this Walnut flooring for the new Discovery Bank in Sandton.  The factory applied finish was removed and Loba 2K Invisible Protect was applied instead - changing the colour of the floor to match the rest of the timber in the bank, whilst giving the floor a commercial grade protection.  The end of each row of flooring was pre-made in our factory to match the architect's layout - there was very little margin for error when installation time came.

Discovery Bank

HIgh traffic floors....

Daytona Melrose Arch is where you'll find one of our latest projects.  Unfinished, engineered oak planks were glued down to form these spectacular floors complementing the impressive cars in the show room - you did notice the cars?  The floors were stained to the client's requirement and then sealed with a water-based, commercial grade, matt sealer imported from Loba in Germany.

Engineered American Walnut

A 190mm wide, ABCD grade American Walnut Floor was installed on Elastilon in this Bryanston home.  The floor was sealed with Loba's HS 2K Impact Oil - a two-component oil that contains no solvents.  The oil finish brings out the best in the grain and colour of the Walnut flooring.  We finished off this timeless floor with white painted skirting boards and matching Walnut trim.

Law Offices - Sandton

A pre-finished Suntups engineered oak floor was chosen to replace the original water-damaged floors in these Sandton offices.  A factory pre-finished floor gives a flawless finish, as well as reducing the amount of time, noise and dust on site allowing us to get the flooring done with as little disruption as possible.

Christian Dior - Sandton City

A factory finished Versailles Panel oak floor was installed in the new Christian Dior store in Sandton City.  This particular floor was a special order for the store, but we are able to supply and install similar panels that can be stained and sealed to your taste.

Quarter Sawn Oregon Pine

This floor was sanded and sealed six months before we were contacted by the owner through SAWLFA.  The original sanding and sealing - as shown on the left of the picture - was horrendous, bad sanding marks were left on the surface and the sealer had been applied poorly.  We re-sanded the floor as carefully as possible to remove the worst of the damage whilst trying to preserve as much as possible of a valuable floor.  Loba water-based sealers were applied to what is once again a beautiful floor, with a very happy owner - apart from not being very happy to have paid twice.....

Sanding and sealing

This teak parquet floor was refurbished after being flooded and covered in carpets for far too long - and yes that is the same floor - in the same room.  The floor was primed and sealed with an imported, water-based floor sealer.

Cumaru Installation

Cumaru (Brazilian Teak) is an extremely hard timber with a warm brown colour.

Bulgari

A bespoke floor in Walnut with a high gloss finish.  The first Bvlgari shop to have this flooring installed worldwide.  The floor panels are selected and laid from darker tones to lighter tones through the shop, with special panels in between.
